Wally Warren, a Cal Poly Pomona Foundation employee, died from a heart attack March 14. He was 59 years old.
A resident of Ontario, Warren began working as the operations floor supervisor at Vista Cafe in December 2005.
“Although Wally had only been here a few short months, he had already made a positive impact at Vista Cafe,” says Annette Pettit, senior associate director of the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation. “He was excited to be working for the Foundation and enjoyed the daily interaction with students and staff in making their dining experience a positive one.”
Warren is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters Carolyn and Lindy; son, Aaron; and four grandchildren.
“The Foundation extends their deepest sympathy to Wally's wife and children during this difficult time,” says Ernie Kawai, associate director of Foundation Auxiliary Operations. “He will be missed by us all.”
Warren's family and friends gathered to celebrate his life on March 18 at Grace Community Church in Rancho Cucamonga.
