|Human Resources Lead Employment Coordinator Lynne Cywan|
Lynne Cywan, a lead employment coordinator for Human Resources, died from liver failure on Dec. 23. She was 61.
“This time of Lynne's illness and passing has been very difficult for the entire HR team, as well as for many who knew her,” says Ann Overman-Scott, director of Human Resources. “She was such a vital member of our organization, greatly devoted to Cal Poly Pomona and exemplified her commitment by providing the best possible example in everything she did. Lynne will be missed in every way, including her strong work ethic, her concern for others and especially her humor and insight.”
A 12-year member of the university family, Cywan joined HR in 1993 as a clerical assistant. She quickly assimilated the various bargaining unit language and recruitment procedures and became a personnel technician/employment coordinator. In 2001, she assumed the lead role.
Cywan is survived by a great number of friends and family, both on and off campus. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at Douglas & Zook Mortuary, 600 E. Foothill Blvd. in Monrovia.
