Gary Reichard, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Cal State Long Beach, was appointed as executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer for the California State University system. In other news, the CSU and the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) have announced a partnership to strengthen parent involvement in the education of elementary and middle school students to improve children's preparation for higher education.
