Ephemeral and Eternal Qualities of Installation Art Explored at Downtown Center's Exhibit
This image was created for an animated film, “Our Cosmos, Our Chaos”, by Erica Chough, one of the artists whose work is featured at the Downtown Center.

The Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center gallery is presenting “Timeless & Transient Stories of Youth” now through Oct. 22.

Contemporary artists Erica Chough (www.wegotmoves.com), P-Jay Fidler (www.pjfidler.com), and Martha Rich (www.martharich.com) have come together to bring three large installation art pieces to the Downtown Center for this exhibit.

Timeless & Transient Stories of Youth explores the ephemeral and eternal qualities of installation art — it is never the same in another location, but it's impact on viewers is long-term because they become part of the piece, internalizing the experience, and taking it with them when they leave. In this exhibit, the artists investigate stories as seen through the eyes of the young, each delving in their own contemporary and distinct style.

The exhibit is open to the public, free of charge.

The Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center is located at 300 W. Second St. in the Pomona Arts Colony. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m.
