I⁢ Warns Campus of Computer Worm

Instructional & Information Technology warns that a variant of a world-wide computer worm has hit the campus. E-mail messages purporting to be from “Csupomona Security Department Assistant” are fraudulent. The subject is usually titled “*IMPORTANT* Please Validate Your Account.”

This is a variant of the Mytob worm, Mytob.bi. Do not open or link from these files. Although they may appear to be legitimate, these e-mails are not from any computer security person on campus. The worm has infiltrated some computers, and it is using the infected computers' address book to send messages to others.
