The university's Academy for Literacy Through the Arts has been chosen to benefit from the annual Hafif Family Foundation, Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Law Offices of Herbert Hafif Concerts Under the Stars fundraiser. This year's concerts will be held Aug. 12 and 13 at the Hafif Estate in the foothills of La Verne. For a donation of $55, the donor will receive a ticket to the outdoor event that includes dinner provided by Walter's of Claremont and a concert featuring Karen Tyler and Cold Comfort. Proceeds go directly to the Academy for Literacy Through the Arts, which provides high quality afterschool programs that introduce students to the arts and increase literacy at low or no cost to Pomona area youth.
