Cal Poly Pomona is one of 10 Pomona businesses that recently took center stage for achieving and maintaining a better quality of life for the Pomona community.
The Los Angeles Area Regional Agency, a waste management authority, honored the university and other top recyclers in Pomona on June 9 for the most innovative and cost-effective methods of recycling in the San Gabriel Valley.
Cal Poly Pomona recycles wood and cardboard, and it mulches most of its grass. Other innovative recyclers in town include the makers of Wonder Bread, Pomona Fairplex, Pomona Unified School District and the Lanterman Development Center.
