For 30 years, the Cal Poly Pomona Children's Center has provided low-cost quality care for the children of students, faculty, staff and community members. To mark its three-decade anniversary, the center will host a celebration on May 13, from 6-9 p.m., in the Bronco Student Center's Orion Suite.
The free event will include entertainment from Music department students, staff and student reflections and a silent auction. The evening will also include a slide show featuring a timeline and pictures of the Children's Center. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided by Los Olivos.
Silent auction prizes include tickets to Disneyland, Legoland, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the “Dr. Phil” talk show, plus gift baskets and gift certificates to local restaurants. Proceeds from the auction will go toward enhancing the Children's Center outdoor playground equipment and bringing educational visitors into the classrooms.
Although the anniversary celebration is free, there is a suggested contribution of $10. To RSVP to the event, call Michelle Crowder in the Children's Center at (909) 869-2284 or send an e-mail to mdcrowder@asi.cpp.edu by May 6.
