Men's Basketball Wins the West,
Heads for North Dakota
Cal Poly Pomona's men's basketball team is on top of the NCAA Division II West Region for the second time in the past three years. The Broncos, who won the 2003 title in Hawaii, captured the 2005 title in Washington by beating Alaska Fairbanks, 65-58, on March 14. Cal Poly Pomona (24-6) will advance to the Elite Eight in Grand Forks, N.D. The Broncos will face the South Central champion on Wednesday, March 23. The game will be aired on the Athletics Web site.
