The College of the Extended University (CEU) and the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation Inc. have partnered with Gatlin Education Services (GES), the largest provider of Web-based career training courses, to offer online career training certificate programs in graphic design, multimedia design, Linux and MCSA/MCSE preparation. These courses are being administered by ExtendTech, a department within CEU that offers a blend of high technology training, support and distance learning options to individuals and industry. The new online courses are designed for people looking to switch career paths, obtain advanced training and certifications, or for first-time job seekers who need specialized training. The courses are all open enrollment and self-paced, and students are paired with a personal instructor. Courses take an average of 90 days to complete and provide training for entry-level positions. The CEU's programs are designed to meet the diverse educational needs of residents throughout Southern California. The college offers a variety of extension seminars, certificate programs, off-campus graduate degree programs and grant projects. ExtendTech is a self-supporting, nonprofit program of the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation. GES has provided education on the Web since 1994.
