Hsin Fan, a professor emeritus in the Mathematics department, died of complications from diabetes on Dec. 26, 2004. He was 77 years old. Fan taught Mathematics at Cal Poly Pomona from 1969 until retiring in 2002. During his time teaching, he also helped to arrange scholarships for students studying abroad in China.
