Tom Adamski, who served as the director of Instructional & Information Technology (I&IT) Applications, died unexpectedly from heart failure on Dec. 6. He would have been 50 years old on New Year's Day.
“Tom was a kind and gentle person, a man of character and integrity, and a hard worker who leaves a hole that cannot be filled,” says I&IT Vice President Mike Berman. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Suzanne, and the entire Adamski family.”
Adamski joined the university in August 2001, after 11 years as an information systems manager in industry. He had also served seven years at UC Irvine as a programmer/analyst in the admissions office. Adamski earned a bachelor's of science degree from UC Irvine and an MBA from CSU Fullerton.
A resident of Yorba Linda, Adamski is survived by his wife and two sons.
A memorial service for Adamski will take place Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Road in Orange. A viewing will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Neels Brea Mortuary, 835 S. Brea Blvd. in Brea.
