"Take Time to Smell the Roses" on Staff Appreciation Day


Staff Council will present Staff Appreciation Day, ?Take Time to Smell the Roses,? on Tuesday, June 15. The annual event, initiated in 1979, is an opportunity for the campus community to recognize outstanding staff as well as enjoy the friendship and support of peers.

The day will kick off with a morning reception and welcome by President Michael Ortiz from 8-9:15 a.m. in the Heritage Conference Center on the eighth floor of the CLA Building 98.

Workshops on Pilates, T-shirt art, ceramics creations and woodworking, and tours of the Rose Garden and BioTrek will run concurrently from 9:30-11 a.m. For more information on these workshops, click here.

The traditional Staff Appreciation Day luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kellogg West. At this event, the 2003-04 Outstanding Staff Awards will be given to Holly M. Greene, Equine Research Center, Sharon P. Joyce, University Advancement, Becky Pepping, Procurement & Support Services, and Tom Delk, Facilities Management. Cost of the luncheon is $12.

A variety show performed by Cal Poly Pomona staff members from 2-4 p.m. in the University Theatre will conclude the day?s events. U'Pal King, employee relations coordinator in Human Resources, will serve as this year?s emcee. The show may even include a special visit by ?Janet Jackson.?
