Jonnie Owens, community relations coordinator, Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center, conducted Safe Zone training for nearly 100 faculty, staff and students on Feb. 25 at the CSU Hayward Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching. Safe Zone is a message of understanding, non-judgment, and knowledge of gay, lesbian and bisexual persons? needs and concerns. Cal Poly Pomona has been a leader in Safe Zone programs throughout the CSU, and Owens has conducted additional trainings at the Dominguez Hills and Channel Islands campuses.
