The 8th Annual Hilda L. Solis Scholarship Dinner & Reception will be held Friday, Jan. 23, 6-9 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center?s Ursa Major Suite. Eight scholarships will be awarded to Cal Poly Pomona students who have excelled in their academics and campus/community service at this year's event, hosted by the Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education and the Raices Alumni Association. There will also be a recognition and welcome reception in President J. Michael Ortiz?s honor immediately preceding the scholarship program. The cost to attend the event is $40 general admission and $10 for students. For more information, call (909) 869-5035.
