Each year, books authored by Cal Poly Pomona faculty and staff are put on display in the University Library during the month of April. Now many of these books can be viewed year-round in the President?s Office.
President J. Michael Ortiz has placed dozens of published books authored or edited by faculty and staff on display in the President?s Office.
?I am so impressed by the diversity and quantity of publications on our campus, and I hope to have an opportunity to review each volume,? says Ortiz. ?My intent is to prominently exhibit these works on a rotating basis between bookshelves in the lobby and my office for both on-campus and off-campus visitors. I encourage faculty and staff to continue publishing their work as it is a visible statement of the quality of this institution and of the individuals who make it so.?
Since 1996, the library has recognized nearly 300 authorships by faculty, staff, alumni, students and retirees, according to University Library Dean Harold B. Schleifer.
