Frederick Gallegos , MSBA-IS audit adviser, Computer Information Systems, spoke on “RISSC: Regional Information Systems Security Center” on Oct. 23 at the National Science Foundation and American Association of Community Colleges Advance Technology Education Conference in Washington, D.C. Gallegos and a professor from Mt. San Antonio College presented progress on the development of curriculum and other efforts under the joint NSF grant awarded to Mt. SAC and Cal Poly Pomona. Gallegos also recently authored two articles. The first article, “IT Audit Career Development Plan,” appeared in New Perspectives on Health Care Auditing, Fall 2003, Vol. 22, No. 4, pp. 42-43. The journal is published by the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors. The second, entitled “IT Audit Independence – What Does It Mean,” appeared in Information Systems Control Journal, 2003, Vol. 6, pp. 31-32. The journal is published by Information Systems Audit and Control Association.
