Cal Poly Pomona will host a free concert by The Latin Lizards on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 6-9 p.m. at the Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center, 300 W. Second St. in Pomona. The event is part of Passport to Pomona, a music showcase presented by the Pomona Central Business District held every fourth Saturday of the month in the Pomona Arts Colony. The Latin Lizards is a soulful Latin folk/jazz/pop duo comprising Robert Grajeda and Norma Tanega. The team has been writing songs and performing for five years. A singer/songwriter since the 1960s, Tanega paints aural landscapes through drums and singing. Grajeda is on keyboards and vocals, and brings his Los Angeles influences of Latin jazz and traditional Mexican folk to the mix.
