Jennifer Cerini, administrative assistant for the Lecturer Support Program and Service Learning Center in Faculty Affairs, died on Tuesday, July 29. She was 29 years old.
Cerini?s cause of death is unknown.
A resident of Claremont, Cerini had worked at Cal Poly Pomona since Feb. 28, 2002. Colleagues describe her as caring and cheerful.
“Jennifer was a wonderful person and a fantastic co-worker,” says Pat Zambell, director of the Lecturer Support Program. “Not only was she highly skilled, but her ability to work with all who came into our offices ?faculty, staff or student ? was truly outstanding. She will be greatly missed by all.”
Cerini is survived by her 6-year-old son, Justin Kahler; parents, Sal and Sharon Perrotti; grandmother, Bessy Ramsey; and sister, Wendy Fletcher.
A memorial service for Cerini is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 6, at 9 a.m., at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 21300 E. Via Verde St., Covina. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 5-9 p.m., at Forest Lawn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Cerini?s name to the Sumner Elementary School Computer Fund, where her son attends.
