The Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Association and the university have officially formalized a 31-year relationship. University President Bob H. Suzuki, and Jon Lundstrom ?76, 2002-03 president of the Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Association, signed the Memorandum of Agreement in the presence of directors of the Alumni Association who crafted the document.

The Memorandum of Agreement stems from the adoption by the CSU Board of Trustees of Article 15 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations. The trustees intended to develop policies and procedures governing the recognition and management of alumni organizations, including the use of funds and institutional resources, and to ensure cooperative and collaborative efforts between the alumni organization and the campus.

“Crafting the Memorandum of Agreement took many months and was definitely a collaborative effort,” notes Lundstrom. “The MOA committee took their job seriously, reading and editing draft after draft. I applaud their efforts and those of the staff who provided assistance and guidance.”
