Ochoa Named Provost at Sonoma State
Eduardo Ochoa, dean of the College of Business Administration since 1997, will take over as the provost and vice president of academic affairs at Sonoma State University.

Eduardo Ochoa, dean of the College of Business Administration (CBA) since 1997, has been named the provost and vice president of academic affairs at Sonoma State University.

“I will certainly miss the many friendships my wife Holly and I have developed across the university,” says Ochoa. “It has been a pleasure working with all of you to continue to strengthen Cal Poly Pomona as one of the flagship institutions of the CSU and of California. Under President Suzuki's leadership, we have significantly enhanced the institution and positioned it well to continue to improve under incoming President Ortiz.”

Ochoa served Cal Poly Pomona during an extraordinary period of growth. He led the CBA through the development of a formal governance structure and through college-based strategic planning, launched a new interdisciplinary undergraduate program in e-business, instituted a major emphasis on the cutting-edge use of IT, and helped raise nearly $8 million in cash and gifts-in-kind.

He will begin his new duties in Rohnert Park on July 1.
