Mary Kay  Switzer , associate professor, Communication, was awarded the Riverside County ?YWCA Everyday Hero? for 2003 award on April 30. Cal Poly Pomona alumni and former students from California and Taiwan nominated her. The award is presented to someone who demonstrates a commitment to rejecting bigotry and promoting tolerance and respect.
