Bronco Student Center Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony

Bronco Student Center Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony
A Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony for the Bronco Student Center takes place Tuesday, April 29.

Associated Students Inc. (ASI) will host a Ribbon Cutting and Dedication Ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Bronco Student Center, formerly known as the University Union, on Tuesday, April 29, noon to 1 p.m. in the University Park.

Those expected to attend include Bob H. Suzuki, university president; Uwaifo Obanor, ASI president; Tomas Morales, vice president for student affairs; Cora Culla, ASI executive director; and Kyle Williams, the former ASI president who helped start the expansion and renovation project.

The Bronco Student Center serves as a gathering space for the campus community, providing diverse programs and services. The $25 million expansion and renovation project doubled the size of the 30-year-old structure to better accommodate the university?s record number of students, which nears 20,000. Formerly the University Union, the Bronco Student Center?s name was changed to reflect new features of the facility. The newly added wing includes an 11,000-square-foot Bronco Fitness Center, a theater, a 500-seat food court, an 800-seat multipurpose room, additional meeting rooms and new dining options that will be opening later this summer.
