Cuban Culture and Women in Performance


The Cal Poly Pomona Downtown Center presents Cultural Café: The Cuban Experience and Passport to Pomona: In Celebration of Women on March 22. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. at the Downtown Center, 300 W. Second St., Pomona, with the Cuban Student/Faculty Exchange Program, led by political science professor Jose Vadi. Enjoy a night of music, poetry, dialogue, photography and a video as students share their experiences in Cuba. Then, from 7-10 p.m., Passport to Pomona will feature women in performance with funky jazz/blues duets of Lisa and Darlene, Mariachi Divas, Flamenco dancer Susana Elena, the Polynesian Dream Dancers and Sugar Mountain Mama Serenade.
