As part of Women?s Herstory Month activities at Cal Poly Pomona, the university?s Reentry and Women?s Resource Center hosted an appearance by Congresswoman Linda Sanchez on March 3 in the University Union Lecture Room.
Sanchez represents the 39th congressional district in southeast Los Angeles County. Before being elected into the U.S. House of Representatives, she studied law at UCLA and served as a civil rights attorney and labor leader. During her visit, she addressed women?s issues and her experience running for office.
Sanchez is the younger sister of Loretta Sanchez, who is entering her fourth term as representative of California?s 47th congressional district in Orange County.
