The College of Engineering will hold an open house on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Campus Center Marketplace (Building 97) and Engineering Complex (Buildings 9 and 17). The event serves as keystone to the university?s observance of National Engineers Week (Feb. 16-22), originated in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers as an opportunity to raise awareness about the profession.
Participants will explore Cal Poly Pomona?s engineering program through campus tours and introductions to the College of Engineering?s seven departments ? Aerospace Engineering, Chemical & Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Technology. Those in attendance will be able to interact with faculty and student clubs, and listen in on informative workshops about admissions, financial aid, housing and testing.
Various student projects, including a Formula SAE racecar and Mini Baja vehicles, will be on display.
