Miguel Tinker-Salas, a Pomona College professor of History and Latin American studies, will launch the winter quarter?s Campus Forum series with his ?Update on the Venezuela Crisis,? on Wednesday, Jan. 29, noon to 1 p.m., in the CLA Building, Room P2-7.
Additional campus forums will be held throughout the quarter, generally scheduled for Wednesdays at noon in the CLA Building, Room P2-7. Please call to confirm before attending.
- Feb. 5 ? Actor and activist Ed Asner will discuss ?How An Artist Sees the Iraq War.? This event?s location on campus is yet to be determined.
- Feb. 12 ? Mike Farrell, actor, activist and president of Death Penalty Focus of California, will speak on ?The Death Penalty in the 21st Century.?
- Feb. 19 ? Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter will discuss ?The Coming War With Iraq: How Did We Get Here?? Location TBA.
- Feb. 26 ? Cal State Sacramento sociology professor Ayad Al Qazzaz will talk about ?The Sociology of Contemporary Iraq.?
- March 5 ? John Cavanaugh, director of the Washington D.C. Institute for Policy Studies, will address ?Free Trade: Reality or Farce??
