Master Sergeant Rodolfo Blain, an ROTC senior military science instructor at Claremont McKenna College, will provide the keynote address during Cal Poly Pomona?s Veterans Day observance ceremony at noon on Nov. 7 in the University Quad.
Blain, who first joined the United States Army in 1982, served at Fort Sill, Okla., Fort Riley, Kan., and Fort Hood, Texas, as well as in Germany and Korea.
Along with Blain, several other faculty and staff service veterans are scheduled to speak during the campus ceremony.
William F. (Bill) Girouard, an Industrial & Manufacturing Engineer professor who served in the Marine Corps for 12 years, will act as master of ceremonies. Girouard served as a captain in World War II and a major during the Korean War. He is the winner of this year?s George P. Hart Award for Outstanding Faculty Leadership.
