The Cal Poly Pomona Annual Fund/Calling, Informing and Asking Club is having its third annual See’s Candies Holiday Fund-raiser through Dec. 12. Selections range from the Teddy Bear Box at $4.50 to 5 pounds of assorted chocolates for $62.
“There’s a sweet deal in every price range, whether it’s a $7 box of truffles for a co-worker or the 4-pounds ‘Gift of Elegance’ package ($65) for your mom,” says Annual Fund Director Nikki Khurana.
Orders and payments for the Dec. 19 delivery must be received by Dec. 12.
The Annual Fund’s student telemarketers raised more than $525,000 last year to benefit campus scholarship programs as well as support classroom renovation and technology upgrades. Staffed by a crew of more than 35 students, the Annual Fund is one of the largest student employers on campus.
“The $3,000 we raised from last year’s See’s Candies sale goes toward providing incentive, motivation and snacks for our student callers. Its a little extra bonus to keep them going all year round,” says Khurana.
“This fund-raiser has become a tradition, and I would like to thank the campus community for its support in the past years,” she says. “We plan to sell a lot of candy this year, so See’s you around.”
