Robert Anoka, a recruiter for the Naval Center for Acquisition, talks with Jonathon Luong, a recent business graduate, at Cal Poly Pomona's Career Day job fair. |
Nearly 5,000 students and approximately 150 companies jam-packed the University Quad last Thursday, Oct. 18, for Career Day. Jobseekers were dressed to impress and had plenty of resumes on hand as they walked from booth to booth, discovering career and internship opportunities and making connections with future employers.
Those looking for full-time, part-time, co-op and internship positions had an opportunity to speak with companies from a wide variety of industries and governmental agencies, including Boeing, California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles Unified School District, Marriott International, Pepsi and the Walt Disney Co.
?The Fall Career Day event is critical for students who will be graduating within the next 12 months,? said Manuel Perez, director of the Career Center. ?Because the current job market is so competitive, we encourage these students to begin their career job search process now. This was their opportunity to begin speaking with potential employers.?
A complete listing of this year?s employer participants is available at the Career Center Web site.
