Campus Forum Series Covers Range of Topics


Fresh from a fact-finding trip to Iraq, director of digital media and international outreach programs Saul Landau is continuing his Campus Forum series this fall at Cal Poly Pomona. His series brings speakers to the university to discuss topics of current and pertinent interest to the community. These free events are sponsored by the California Faculty Association and the university?s College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences. All of these forums will be held on Wednesdays at noon in the CLA Building, Room P2-7.

* Oct. 16–Mahmood Ibrahim, chair of the history department at Cal Poly Pomona, will discuss ?The Current State of the Palestinian Crisis?

* Oct. 23–A representative from the Jewish Federation will address ?The Israeli Perspective on the Middle East Conflict?

* Oct. 30–John Ross, Mexican author and activist, will speak on ?Mexico?s War on Human Rights?

* Nov. 6–Miguel Tinker-Salas, associate professor of history and chair of Latin American studies at Pomona College, will discuss ?Navigating the Crisis in Venezuela?

* Nov. 20–Daphne Wysham, director of the Sustainable Energy and Economy Network at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C., will address ?Biotechnology and the War Against the Environment?
