On Tuesday morning, United States Attorney General John Ashcroft briefed the nation on raising the Homeland Security Advisory Status from Level Yellow (Significant Risk of Terrorist Attack) to Level Orange (High Risk of Terrorist Attack). This was done in conjunction with a variety of justice department organizations as well as international sources.
