Cal Poly Pomona launches citrus research greenhouse

Cal Poly Pomona, the Citrus Pest & Disease Prevention Program and California Citrus Mutual plan to unveil a 5,040-square-foot research greenhouse July 25 at the university. The facility will support research on and rearing of the tamarixia radiata wasp, a parasite of the Asian citrus psyllid, a vector of citrus greening, also known as hounglongbing and HLB.

Lakers Announce Hiring of Marco Nunez as Athletic Trainer

Marco Nunez (’01, kinesiology, sports medicine opt.) has been hired as the Los Angeles Lakers’ new Athletic Trainer. He originally joined the Lakers as Assistant Athletic Trainer during the 2008-09 season and will now expand his responsibilities by working hand-in-hand with the training staff, coaching staff, and front office to ensure the highest level of on-court performance.
