Renaissance Scholars Annual Toy Drive

Renaissance Scholars is partnering with the McKinley Children’s Center in San Dimas to collect items for foster children, from newborns to age 17, in their care. Collection boxes are located at the Bronco Bookstore, SSEP Main Office (Building 94, room 121), the University Housing Office (Building 59, front office) and the BSC (near the food court). Cal Poly Pomona to Host Alternative Transportation Conference

Cal Poly Pomona will host its inaugural Alternative Transportation Conference designed to highlight the need for improved transit connectivity on campus and to promote a university-wide conversation about the transportation challenges faced by students and their impact on student access and success. The event will feature student workshops and faculty/staff/student perspectives on transportation issues facing the university.

The conference, which is free and open to the university community, will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 in the Bronco Student Center.

The conference is jointly organized by ASI and Students for Quality Education (SQE)

Polling Place Available on Campus Nov. 8

Cal Poly Pomona once again will offer the campus community a place to vote for the upcoming election.

Associated Students, Inc. has contracted with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office to host a polling place in the Andromeda Suite of the Bronco Student Center on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The polling place will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day only. Only voters registered in Los Angeles County may vote at the polling place on campus. Los Angeles County registered voters with provisional ballots or absentee ballots also will be accepted at this polling location. Those voting must present photo identification, a utility bill or a government-issued

Service-Learning Mini-Grants Up to $1,000 Available

Grant applications are being accepted for service-learning course project supplies, research and/or scholarship. Mini-grants up to $1,000 are available. A total of $12,000 in grants will be awarded. Applications can be emailed, faxed to (909) 869-4515 or hand-delivered to Building 1, room 108. Applications are available at and are due Nov. 3 by 5 p.m.

Unsold Fall Books will be Shipped Back on 10/31

The Bronco Bookstore will start shipping back unsold fall quarter books (that have not been re-adopted for next quarter) to vendors beginning Oct. 31. Books for fall quarter may no longer be available after that week. Faculty should contact the bookstore ASAP if there are books in their course(s) that will not be used until later in the quarter.
