Calling All Home Brewers!

Innovation Brew Works is hosting their first-ever home brew competition. This contest is open to any homebrewer 21 years old and older. All entries must be homemade—no entries brewed in a commercial facility will be accepted. The winner will have their recipe featured in the Brew Works taproom along with a special release party. Building Marshals & Floor Captains Needed

The Building Marshal Program facilitates the safe evacuation of campus buildings and is staffed by volunteer campus employees who have been trained to assist during an emergency. As a building marshal or floor captain, you will learn valuable skills, which can be a vital asset to the campus community and your own residential community. Outstanding Department of the Year Nominations Sought

Tell Staff Council why your department should be the Outstanding Department of the Year. Recipients will win either breakfast or lunch for their department and will be recognized during Staff Appreciation Week at the morning reception on June 13. The entry deadline is Monday, May 22. OUR Student Travel Fund Application

The Office of Undergraduate Research provides scholarship awards for students to present at conferences and professional meetings. Applicants must be a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student at CPP to be eligible. The current funding period covers travel from June 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. Students must submit an application with their travel budget by Thursday, June 1 to be eligible. For more information, visit the program website at http://bit.ly/our_sta.

Graduation Writing Test (GWT) Reminder

If students have completed 90 units, they are eligible to take the GWT. If they have completed 120 units and not taken the GWT, they will receive a hold. The hold will restrict their ability to register for classes. To remove the hold, they need to register for the GWT through Bronco Direct and pay the test fee via BroncoDirect or at the Cashiers Office. The deadline to register and pay for the July 15th GWT is June 29. For more information about the GWT, visit www.cpp.edu/~testcenter/tests/gwt.shtml.

Office of Admissions & Outreach Reorganization

The Office of Admissions & Outreach has been reorganized to assume additional responsibilities that support the university’s Student Success Initiative and augment enrollment planning efforts. Deborah Brandon serves as the executive director of the Office of Admissions & Enrollment Planning, which now includes the Test Center. Dawn Valencia serves as the director of the Office of Outreach, Recruitment & Educational Partnerships, which now includes the Pre-Collegiate TRIO Programs and the Early Assessment Program. These departments will continue to report to Kathleen Street, associate vice president, Enrollment Management & Services in the Division of Academic Affairs.
