Retro Giant Sun Design Wins Summer T-Shirt Design Contest

Posted on April 11, 2017

Winning design for the 2017 Summer T-Shirt Design Contest

Almost 700 votes were cast on Facebook in the Cal Poly Pomona summer session 2017 T-shirt design contest.

With 233 votes, a retro design featuring a giant sun and the stables weather vane was the winner. Entries needed to capture the spirit of summer session and include the phrases “Fast Pass to Graduation” and “Summer.” The design also had to be one color on a green background. The winning design was created by Johnny Lai, marketing coordinator for University Housing Services.

The T-shirt will be sold in the Bronco bookstore in April. In addition, 100 randomly selected students who register during first week of priority registration and 100 students who register during the first week of general summer registration will receive free shirts.

Offering more than 700 course sections, including those for some impacted classes, summer term 2017 can be a “fast pass to graduation” by helping students to complete their degree on time. The summer session dates and a link to the course schedule and registration can be found at http://www.cpp.edu/~summer/schedule.shtml.
