The Cal Poly Pomona department responsible for purchasing on campus has won its ninth consecutive award for excellence.
The National Procurement Institute recently presented the university’s procurement department with the 2016 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award. The honor recognizes best practices and measures innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership.
The university was recognized for its effective sourcing strategies, use of technology, and knowledgeable staff says Kathleen Prunty, director of procurement and support services.
“We are proud that we are again recipients of this award,” Prunty says.
Cal Poly Pomona is one of only 45 agencies in the state and one of only 25 organizations related to higher education in the country and Canada to receive the award, according to the National Procurement Institute.
