A Message from the CSU: Help Recognize CSU Legislative Supporters

Posted on May 1, 2015

Annual state budget deliberations are in full swing in Sacramento, and advocates for CSU are working to ensure that the university’s doors are open for tens of thousands of qualified students. Since the Governor proposed his budget in January, the CSU has asked the legislature to #standWithCSU and provide at least $97 million in increased investment to the university.

We are thrilled to report that 83 of the 120 legislative members have signed letters in support of this additional funding.

Now, we need your help to thank these members for their public commitment to the CSU and urge them to continue to advocate for the CSU during final budget negotiations.

How You Can Help

Send a thank you note, thank them personally when you see them in your district or place a phone call to their district office. The following Senate and Assembly members signed a letter supporting an additional $97 million for the CSU.

Also, the CSU has been working with the California State Student Association on a #standwithCSU campaign. You can help this effort by recognizing CSU supporters by using the Twitter handle #standwithCSU or by retweeting and replying to posts from the CSU at @calstate or @csustudents. By participating in this effort, you raise the visibility of the CSU’s budget request and recognize lawmakers who support increased funding for the CSU.

Please take action today and thank you for standing with the CSU!
