Captain Who Survived Hijacking by Somali Pirates to Speak on Campus

Tom Hanks portrayed him in a critically acclaimed movie.

Now, the real Capt. Richard Phillips will share his story in his own words when he comes to Cal Poly Pomona on Wednesday, Feb. 4, to speak to students as part of the College of Business Administration’s Leadership Forum.

Spring 2015 Textbook/Course Materials Requisitions Due

Jan. 30 is the Bronco Bookstore’s priority due date for academic departments to turn in requisitions for all required/recommended course materials including textbooks, readers, trade books and course packs for Spring 2015. Beginning Feb. 3, the textbook department staff will start shipping back unsold winter quarter books to vendors unless they have been re-ordered by professors to be used for the spring quarter. The store can reorder a book that has been returned if a student requests it, but reorders can take seven to 10 business days to arrive, or longer if the book has to be reprinted. Customers can request rush second-day-air shipping. However, there is an additional rush order fee of $9.95.

Give Feedback, Get 25 Percent off Bronco Gear

The Bronco Bookstore is asking students, staff and faculty to fill out annual surveys on how the store is doing. Prior years’ surveys have been used to guide bookstore changes, including adding the Verizon store, expanding technology products offerings and extending Friday hours. The customer survey is aimed at student and other customer concerns, and the faculty survey is focused on course materials issues. Participants can download and print a 25 percent off Bronco Gear clothing/gifts once the survey is completed. To respond, click on the appropriate link: Bronco Bookstore Customer Survey:
