President Ortiz accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge that was given to him by Bill Fox, a fellow Los Angeles County Fair Association board member.
The Ice Bucket Challenge is designed to raise money to fight ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, more popularly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Participants typically challenge friends to get ice water poured over them and/or donate to ALS research. Those receiving the challenge have 24 hours to respond, and then issue their own challenges.
Ortiz also plans to donate money. In turn, he challenged Provost Marten denBoer, Chief of Staff Gary Means and Cal State San Bernardino President Tomas Morales.
