University Police are advising the campus community to exercise vigilance and caution following two incidents of indecent exposure on Monday.
The first incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. in Lot Q near the Residential Suites. A female student was sitting in her car when a black four-door car pulled up next to her. The driver of that vehicle, who was described as a white male in dark clothing, exposed and then fondled himself.
The second incident occurred a few hours later in Lot C. A female student spotted a man fondling himself while standing between his black sedan and another car. He was described as a white male, 20 to 24 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with light skin and short brown hair, wearing dark jeans and dark short-sleeved shirt.
Due to similarities between the two incidents, University Police suspect both crimes may have been committed by the same person.
Members of the campus community are urged to remember the following safety tips:
- Be vigilant and aware of your surroundings.
- Walk with others when possible.
- Report suspicious-looking persons or activity to University Police immediately. Please do not delay calling to report.
- Program the University Police number into your cell phone.(9-1-1 calls from cell phones route to the California Highway Patrol.)
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the University Police Department at (909) 869-3070. Anonymous tips may be left by calling (909) 869-3399.
