Anderson, Rosser Receive 2012 All-CCAA Recognition

Mitchel Anderson and Matt Rosser of the men’s basketball team received selection to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Team, conference officials announced on Wednesday.

The veteran pair has helped the Broncos advance to the semifinal stage of the conference tournament. CPP challenges Humboldt State Friday at 12 p.m. in UC San Diego’s RIMAC Arena.

Wednesday’s announcement marked the first All-CCAA honors received for both Anderson — named to the First Team — and Rosser, a member of the Second Team. The two are the only Broncos to average over 30 minutes of action per game this season.

Anderson continues to lead the team in scoring and rebounding, with respective averages of 14.6 and 6.2. His three-quarter court buzzer beater brought CPP national attention through Sportscenter and YouTube. Through his Broncos’ career, Anderson has totaled 979 points.

Rosser continues to be a leader on both offense and defense, ranking ninth in the CCAA for assists with 2.8 per game and 15th in blocks with 0.7 per contest. Playing in his 114th career game Friday, Rosser is just 11 assists shy of 200.
