Sustainable living isn’t just a theory that students study in a classroom or research in a science lab. At Cal Poly Pomona, green practices are a way of life.
A special Earth Day video showcases a few examples of everyday sustainable living practices on campus. Hosted by Meaghan Smith, manager of sustainability, the video begins at the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies, which recently became carbon neutral with the installation of two large solar arrays. The university’s green commitment also extends to constructing utility-efficient buildings, producing renewable energy, eating local foods, carpooling and recycling.
The success of the green movement depends on individuals’ personal choices. Share examples of green living from your life by commenting on the YouTube video, creating a video response, posting on Cal Poly Pomona’s Facebook wall or sending a tweet to @calpolypomona.
