FRL Professor Presents on Securities Regulation, Global Markets

Posted on February 28, 2011

Norman Gregory Young, professor in the Department of Finance, Real Estate & Law, delivered a three-hour presentation in February on U.S. securities regulation and its global impact on financial markets to 20 Chinese government officials. Young, who once worked for the Securities and Exchange Commission and has devoted his post-juris doctorate studies to international and comparative law, gave an overview of the U.S. economic system including regulatory law, financial markets and securities law. Young is widely regarded as an expert in U.S.-Chinese comparative law and has been asked to speak at many of China’s top business and law schools. The Chinese officials visited Cal Poly Pomona through the College of the Extended University.
