President's Video Update for Jan. 24

President Michael Ortiz gives his video message on Jan. 24.

In his weekly video message, President Ortiz shares details about the Graduation Initiative and the CSU goal to raise the six-year-graduation rate. He recognizes engineering professor Victor Okhuysen, who will serve as Cal Poly Pomona’s Graduation Initiative steering committee co-chair and faculty coordinator.

The president encourages the campus community to attend two upcoming events. The Collins College of Hospitality Management continues its Richard N. Frank Distinguished Lectureship Series on Friday, Jan. 28. Barbara Hollkamp, Hilton Worldwide’s senior vice president of human resources consulting, will speak about her career and provide insights into Hilton Worldwide. Former Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee will speak about public service on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
