President's Video Update for Dec. 6

President Michael Ortiz gives his video message on Dec. 6.

In his final video address of 2010, President Ortiz thanks every member of the campus community for their daily efforts in supporting students.

The president congratulates professors Ed Walton, Barbara Burke and Winny Dong for helping to secure a $1 million National Science Foundation grant to support students in math, science and engineering and help them toward graduation.

Ortiz also calls attention to a $2.5 million construction grant, received by George Lwin and his team in energy services. The funding will allow the campus to proceed with the groundwater filtration project.

With every new year comes the Rose Parade. Students from the Pomona and San Luis Obispo campuses will show off “Galactic Expedition” to the world on Jan. 1. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the online voting for the KTLA Viewers’ Choice Award. Each person can vote up to five times via email or phone. More details will be sent through email.
