After a hiatus of many years the Cal Poly Pomona Amateur Radio Club UHF repeater is back on the air, thanks largely to the work of AF6Z, Glen Shiery from I&IT. Along with University Police Chief Michael Guerin, W6MVT, Shiery will advise the student members of the amateur radio club.
Faculty, staff and students with amateur radio licenses are invited to check in on K6CPP, which operates on a temporary frequency of 446.860 (-), with a PL Tone of 156.7. Check-in on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Eventually a permanent frequency will be coordinated and announced. Club leaders and advisors have great ideas for club activities including Echolink, a two-meter crossband patch, expanded HF operations and other experimental modes, as well as emergency communications. In the meantime, feel free to check in at the weekly time, or email your name, email and call sign to email@example.com to get on the club information list for updates.
