Police Investigating Auto Burglaries

Posted on March 10, 2010

Police Investigating Auto Burglaries

The University Police Department is investigating multiple car burglaries on campus, including three incidents on Tuesday in Parking Lot B, which is bordered by South Campus Drive and Kellogg Drive.

Since January, auto burglaries have been reported in Lots F, P and J and on University Drive. Stolen items include navigation systems, stereos, iPods, parking permits and other valuables.

Police urge the campus community to practice crime prevention measures and report any suspicious persons or activity immediately.

Valuables, electronic devices and electronic mounting units should not be left in view and should be secured in the trunk. Drivers may want to consider using anti-theft devices, such as car alarm systems and stereo locks.

To report suspicious activity, contact the University Police Department at (909) 869-3070 from a cell phone, dial 911 from a campus phone or use a Code Blue 911 emergency tower in the parking lot.
