New Road to Open Sept. 14

A new road and traffic signal leading to the parking structure will open Sept. 14. Named Palm Drive, the road is part of the campus pedestrian safety master plan. Palm Drive intersects Kellogg Drive across from the Arabian Horse Center and leads directly to the parking structure.

Horses May Benefit from Massage

Professional athletes rely on regular conditioning and therapy, from strength building to stretching to sports massage, to improve their performance. A research study at Cal Poly Pomona has set out to show that horses are no different. The university's Equine Research Center recently partnered with the International Equine Body Worker Association to study the effect of massage on horses.

Associate Dean Gary Kinsey

Associate Dean Gary Kinsey, College of Education and Integrative Studies, has been elected as the co-chair on the Committee on Accreditation for the Commission on Teacher Credentialing for 2009-10. The committee is charged with the task of deciding on the initial and continuing accreditation of educator preparation institutions and programs, determining the comparability of national or alternative program standards with California standards of educator preparation, and bringing accreditation recommendations before the commission for approval. Kinsey joined Cal Poly Pomona in 2001 and oversees the program’s accreditation process and the implementation of the California Teaching Performance Assessment.
