World Day for Physical Activity

The Kinesiology & Health Promotion Department is hosting a weeklong series of on-campus activities April 6-10 to celebrate World Day for Physical Activity. The worldwide campaign encourages people to be physically active for at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. The campus events, mainly at 7 a.m. and at noon, include toning and stretching, walking, easy aerobics and dance aerobics and meet at Building 43. Bronco Basketball Pep Rally

Celebrate the men’s basketball team’s success this season at a pep rally on Thursday, April 2, during U-Hour in front of the Bronco Student Center. The Broncos reached the NCAA Division II Championship game but lost to the Findlay Oilers 56-53 in overtime Saturday. However, their appearances in the finals and semifinals were the first in Cal Poly Pomona history. Join in the university-wide celebration to congratulate the team.

CSU Trustees Endorse Props 1A to1E

The California State University Board of Trustees has voted to endorse Propositions 1A through 1E, scheduled for the May 19 statewide special election. The measures were adopted by the Legislature with a two-thirds vote and supported by the Governor as part of the 2009-10 budget package.

It’s great weather for our U-pick Strawberries at the Cal Poly Farm Store. Strawberries are only $2.99 a pound! The berries are sweet and fresh, and we sell the fixin’s for strawberry shortcake too. Come into the Farm Store to get your container and pick to your heart’s content. The field is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting.
